Welcome to eighth grade language arts! I am delighted to have you in my class this year. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my thirteenth year at Simmons Middle School. In my career, I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I have also been an instructional coach as well as an adjunct college professor. I earned National Board Certification in 2000 and again in 2009.
I am married with five busy children. My oldest is beginning college this fall, three are at Hoover High School, and my youngest is beginning Simmons Middle. We are very involved at Green Valley Baptist Church. When not feeding or driving my children to their activities, I enjoy writing. I hope to publish a book in the next few years.
